Linda Arceo an accomplished, self taught singer, songwriter, and
acoustic rhythm guitarist has made Monterey her home since 1991 after
moving from Fresno, California. Her 20 year musical career has
included not only solo performances, but being the lead singer for
various Top 40 Dance, Rock, Country, and R & B cover bands in Fresno
and Los Angeles. She has won first place awards in local and national
talent and songwriting competitions. She has also had radio airplay in
Central, Southern California, and in Monterey.
In 1998, after a seven year retirement from the music world, Linda
returned to songwriting and began performing her music in Monterey at
The Long Bar, Borders Books, Book Works, Zeph's One Stop Shop,
Morgan’s Coffee & Tea and other venues throughout California.
She has completed her first 13 song CD titled “Linda Arceo” which
was produced by Rogers Masson of Carmel Digital Sound and includes the
following talented Monterey, Bay Area, and Southern California
musicians: Rhythm Epkins (drums), Tom Ayers (electric guitar), Nina
Gerber (acoustic guitar), James Findlay (bass guitar), Mitch Fadem
(keyboards), Khasy Brophy (background vocals), Nancy Jones (background
vocals), Robert Arteaga (timbales), Hugo Barragan (congas), Rushad
Eggleston (cello), DJ Dizzy (Turntablest), Kevin Setchko (flute) and
Rogers Masson (guitar). The CD was released on June 22, 2000.
Her music is a mix of driving melodic rhythms and emotional ballads
with rock, country, and Latin influences. Her powerful distinctive
voice, and energetic presence create a combination that can only be
described as captivating.
